Alabaster Pediatrics was established in June 2005 by Drs. Dianne Matheson, Patti Schroder, and Paula Johnson with the goal of providing excellent and personal care for our patients through a smaller private practice setting. We welcomed Dr. Holly Johnson to our practice in 2010 and we are excited to have Dr. Tracey Butcher join the practice in 2021. We have greatly enjoyed building this practice and serving our patients. All of our pediatricians and medical staff are highly trained professionals, and maintain the highest level of accreditation in pediatrics to address the special needs of infants, children, and teens.

DR. PATTI SCHRODER completed her B.S. degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham while on scholarship for intercollegiate volleyball. After receiving her M.D. degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she completed her pediatric internship and residency at UAB and Children’s Hospital of Alabama. She served as Co-Chief Resident of the UAB Pediatric program, then stayed on faculty while the UAB Faculty Pediatrics practice was initiated. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since 1996, Dr. Schroder has been a general pediatrician in the Alabaster community.

DR. PAULA JOHNSON graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC with a major in chemistry. She went to medical school at the Medical College of Georgia where she received her M.D. in 2000. Dr. Johnson served her pediatrics residency at both the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and The Children’s Hospital of Alabama. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Johnson has practiced pediatrics in Alabaster since finishing her residency in 2003.

DR. HOLLY JOHNSON graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. with a major in chemistry. She attended medical school at St. Louis University where she received her M.D. in 2001. Dr. Johnson trained in pediatrics at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis and at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. She worked as a general pediatrician in Sheffield, A.L. until 2009 when she moved to the Birmingham area with her family. She joined Alabaster Pediatrics in August, 2010. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
